The NJATC’s goal is to provide the highest quality training to those interested in a career in the various fields within the electrical industry. In addition to receiving skill training on the job, our apprentices are provided trade related classroom training that produces competency and pride that lead to true craftsmanship. Quite often some local training committees provide special classes with hands-on training to support classroom lectures and discussions.
application process
The following requirements are typical for individuals applying to be accepted into an IBEW/NECA Joint Apprenticeship Training Program (JATC) or IBEW/NECA Area Wide Joint Apprenticeship Program (AJATC).Minimum age 17 to apply, must be 18 prior to being indenturedQualifying score on an Aptitude TestValid drivers licenseDrug FreeEach local JATC or AJATC may have additional requirements and provides training for electrical workers in a specific geographical area. Applications must be made to the JATC or AJATC in the area where you reside.
