about the training

Resource Valley Construction Training Council offers 4-year apprenticeship training programs in Carpentry and Electrical. These programs are registered with the US Department of Labor Bureau of Apprenticeship and Training. Our qualified instructors provide 144 classroom hours annually using NCCER curriculum. These classes are held in the evening as each apprentice is also required to complete 2,000 hours of on-the-job training each year. RVCTC is an EEO participant and will abide by all EEO rules and regulations.

application process

Applicants must be 18 years of age, have completed high school or a GED program and must be physically able to perform the work of the trade. Applications are accepted through June of each year for classes starting in late August. Please include proof of age (driver’s license, birth certificate, etc.) and copy of high school diploma or GED with your completed application. RVCTC was established in 1989 as a joint apprenticeship training program between the Associated General Contractors of Tennessee, Inc. – Knoxville Branch and the Associated Builders and Contractors, Inc. Greater Tennessee Chapter.
